Mp3's jump when surfing
Just curious here, but I have a SB live 1028 pci, and use winamp to play mp3's off the HDD and CD's. When I am surfing, the music halts periodically as new pages loads - only for a fraction of a second, but enough to be noticed. Any idea's ????

How much RAM do you have in your system?
Is your modem a winmodem?

192 RAM, and a 512k cable modem via ethernet to a Dlink 530TX 10/100 pci card. Athelon 850, 80gig, 12x DVD, 52x CD.
Dont think it's a case of the pc spec being too low <IMG SRC="smilies/tongue.gif" border="0">

Check to see if any notorious plugins are loaded in Winamp. Some of them are invisible.
What browser/version are you using?

This is going on a hunch: go into Control Panel, Sounds, and make sure there is no sound selected for the event "Start Navigation" and "Complete Navigation". These sounds may be playing while browsing the web and interfering with the MP3 playback.

This is a very common issue. I have found that it often deals with a shared irq issue. It usually occurs when you a scrolling or dragging an object. I would recommend checking what legacy devices you have installed an what irq's they are holding. Also change the "Plug and Play OS" option in your BIOS to "no". One last thing. Mute all volume controls except for "Play Control" and "Waves"
