installing winME over Win98 prob
i have win98SE already on my system, i had WinME about 4 months ago and removed it. i can install WinME back again, but i no longer get the option to back up my Win98 files. is there a reason for this?
the reason for moving up to WinME again is to see if it fixes a prob i have with ICQ2000b, as when installed, i constantly get an "error with mfc42.dll". i have replaced this file from my Win disk, removed it completely before reinstalling ICQ, and the prob remains.
any help is mucho appreciated.

1..It's not asking to back-up cause it's probably sensing that their is a backup allready, although I'm not sure on this
2.. I've not tried ICQ2000 as yet, make sure the version is for winME.
3.. I find that if a program works fine, why always update to later versions?? Keep what you have unless there's real big changes.

format C:
Reinstall Windows ME (Solution 1)
---------------------------------------------
Buy Partition Magic
Partition Your Hard Disk
Install Win98 on one partition and Win ME on the other (Solution 2)

problem solved, and it did fix ICQ2000b. i was trying to install from HD instead of CD, and i managed to "mislay" a file or two when copying WinME onto my HD.
