[RESOLVED] Best A/V package for 2K Server?

What is the best A/V package to use with Windows 2000 Server? I've always used Norton in the past on my workstations.

I've always found Norton Antivirus to be the best. As far as updating goes it's easy to d/l a virus definition file to the server and run it from a shared folder on each of the workstations. You can even use windows scheduler to update at designated intervals from the server. NAV have the SARC (Symantec Antivirus Research Team) who work on the new virus' and create the update files about once a week. The program is reliable and easy to use, BUT can slow down some DOS box applications to a crawl. Anyways that's my 2 cents.

you can download trial version of norton for server now as well as mcafee's netshield.

i'm running netshield now because norton was too expensive.. (i couldn't find a key.)

Ditto here. $35 for McAfee vs. $500 for Norton, you figure it out.

$35 Mcaffee will not run on server. Netshield will run anywhere between $400 on up for whatever options you want for it (exchange server and such add ons).

1 node, no phone support, $33.

But even the "Total Virus Defense" package is a mere $88, still way below what Norton is asking.

Thanks for the info. From what I've seen here, by the looks of pricing it looks like I'll be going with the Total Virus Defense. This is for the server on my home LAN so I'm not shelling out $400+ for the Norton package.
