[RESOLVED] CDROM is not responding, HELP
Please help me if u can,
When I put a CD in to my CDROM it spins for about a minute, then nothing happens. If I go to My Computer and double-click on the CDROM icon it just says please insert CD. I am absolutely baffled , Please Help Me if u can, Thanks.

Has this problem just started ??, Or have you just installed the CD-ROM ??

Please give us the Hardware Specs of your system and what Windows you're using ..
but A few things to check
1. Boot From a Windows Boot Disk (with CD-ROM Support) and check the drive in DOS
if you don't have such disk go download this one.. :-) http://www.myshed.net/bootdisks/boot98se.exe
2. if it works from DOS and not in Windows
you can try disabling UDMA Support (in Device manager)
Use SFC.exe to check for corrupted Files (in win 98)
3. if it doesn't work in DOS - check the IDE cable and power cable. try disabling the UDMA in the BIOS.

and please, we can't guess the hardware specs of your system and wht windows you're running ..
