Army.exe Virus???
Hey, I was messing with a cpu at work and I was looking at what files were on it, to determine if I needed to reformat or just delete a few programs. Then I came across a program named army.exe. The program looked odd to me, and I figured what the hell. Took the cpu off the network, and ran the program. A box then poped up and said "Gotcha! Have a nice day!" With a ok button. That's it. Now, thinking I was bit by a virus as I origionally suspected anyways, I checked through the windows regestry to see if anything was added to the startup services and I checked background programs running, and I scanned with a copy of Norton 2001 updated previously that day. It came up clean. I also searched through the Norton database and could not find anything on this possible virus. Basically out of curiousity, has anyone herd of this? Is it possible I found a new virus?

Flabooble!
do a search up on Mcafee's or Symantec's sites then submit it for kicks. Maybe it is or isn't. Doesn't sound like it has a payload but you never know...

I searched around & nothing came up. Probably not a virus!

I dunno, it was just weird. I've seen a lot of crazy programs before, but that one left me just feeling odd. Oh well, probably nothing.

Submit it to Mcafee or Norton. See what they find out.

Just did a search on google for ARMY.EXE and came back primarily with screensavers...
I think the previous advice should be taken seriously if you think there's any risk - submit it for analysis.

Next time don't Operate Executables you don't sure they aren't a Virus.
Untill known otherwise any Executables + Scripts that comes into my Mail server are suspected as Viruses and Being Quarantied.

Thanks, but this was a cpu that was getting ready to be trashed. As I stated previously, I took it off the network and ran the program for kicks. I clean several virus' off computers for my company weekly. I am well aware of the precautionary measures.
