Password expired
I have set up a win2k machine as a gateway to access the net from all machines - everything is running fine apart from opne problem.
After the win2k install, there was 5 gig left on the win2k machine - I figured I could use it for trivial storage. I set the share details, and could access the directory from the rest of the LAN; now when I try to access it, after entering the password for access, I am told the password has expired. I have tried the admin and other user passwords to no success.
I know it's something simple - but could somebody drop a hint ???
Cheers,

Right-click on the driver or folder that you're having problems with. Click on the Security tab. Find out exactly who has permissions for this folder. Then, in Control Panel, Users and Passwords (assuming you're using 2Kpro - for server, go to Administrative tools, active directory users and computers, users folder) go to each of the users you have on your machine, and go to properties (right-click, properties). On the general tab of user properties there could be a couple of checkmarks. Just make sure that "Password never expires is checked". Note: If the user names are grayed out, (i.e. you have automatic logon enabled), click on the advanced tab, then advanced button. From this screen you'll be able to look at properties. Good Luck.
