    Post Weird Plexwriter 12/10/32A problem

Hi there.. I have a problem with my Plexwriter 12/10/32A.. With my old computer PII 300 the burner worked fine, burned in 12x speed and everything was great. But now I have upgraded my comp with some new stuff. Abit KT7A-Raid, AMD 1Ghz etc.. And when I now burn in 12x speed it only burns it 6x speed. The settings in the progam(s) are correct but it doesn't write the correct speed.. Anyone know anything about it? Might upgrading Firmware work? Help would be nice. I'm really sick of having to burn in 6x speed when it's really a 12x burner..

    Thx,
    Nero

Plextor writers like to be set as Master on the cables, check that. See if setting DMA mode on helps too.

Make sure that you have the latest VIA 4-in-1 drivers installed.

    From Paul's UnOfficial KT7 FAQ

Disabling DMA will often increase stability of ATAPI drivers and prevent problems such as buffer underruns with CD burners. Note that DMA must always be disabled with Plextor CD burners on the KT133/133A chipsets - despite Plextor's documentation to the contrary! This has been confirmed by Plextor support.
