Unhappy Win98 to Win2k networking permission problem

I have tried to read several previous topics about win2k and win98 networking, but still very confuse, so here is a similar problem.

I am newbie @ NT based OS. Before I have tried to share my internet connection w/ win98-win98 and peer-to-peer sharing, everything is going fine. Now I pop in win2k and try to share the same thing with win98. win2k sees and access everything I have shared from win98. Now from win98 I can see WIN2K client, but to view what on WIN2k aijaja.. It asks me to provide a password!? What password? I don't even have a password to login in win2k Local PC. All passwords are blank.

I think because of the permission thingy win2k doesn't allow my win98 to share the internet connection..what do you think?

I've tried to look everywhere, but can't seem to solve it..
So, is there a simple way for win2k where I can allow my win98 client access without the password or if needed a password where should I begin to look from Win2k ???

I am asure you there are no connection problems nor any fancy networking, just simple peer-to-peer basic networking...

You need to make sure you have a user account setup on the win2k machine with the proper permissions to access the shares

    Do it this way -

whatever your login / password for 98 is (the network name / pw ) make that an account for win2k. if you right click on my computer, go to manage, go to users and groups, users, and add user...make the login / pw identical to the 9x. On the give file or drive you want to share, right click on it, go to permissions and add that user. If you DO NOT WANT that person to have the ability to write to that directory, LEAVE IT BLANK!!!!!!!!

...well hey, I'm at work so send me a message over ICQ and I'll help ya further <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">
