    any suggestions how to network 2 pcs one of them being win xp since they no longer support netbeui.
    i have dsl, xp machine has 2 nics for sharing using wingate 4.x

    make a fake ip address for the inside nic
    and one for the other pc with same network #
    and same submask,
    use dhcp, or your static ip on the outside nic

    I know this is an old thread, but I had to reply.

    It is a misconception that NetBeui is no longer available in XP.

    It's still there- but hidden, and not available for install by default. Put in your install CD, choose Add protocol, choose browse, and go to install cd\VALUEADD\MSFT\NET\NETBEUI. INF file is there.
