its a toshiba cdrom that plugs into an ide channel, but it has its own ribbon cable...
when i tried to d/l the driver off this site, it gave me one, and when i installed, it didnt read it as the driver...
when i tried to get windows to read it as the driver thro 'install new hardware', it said that it wasnt for my hardware...

this is a regular IDE CD-ROM.
if you're not sure about the IDE ribbon - disconnect it.
connect the Drive as Secondary Master -
that is
1. get a regular IDE cable..
2. Set the drive (jumper) to Master (MA)
3. connect poser cable to drive.
4. Connect IDE ribbon to the Second IDE cotroller socket on the Mobo.
go to your BIOS and make sure IDE is set to "Auto" and that the 2nd IDE channel is active.
No drivers are needed.
if you installed the drive right windows will detect it.
Hope it helps
