    Post Running Two Nic's

Hi, I am having a problem with trying to get my home network up. I am using 2 different network cards, a d-link 528 and an Aopen aon-201. I want to use the one nic for my dsl modem and the other to share the internet connection. I have set up the pc and it sees both nics no problem. I had a problem at first with them both accessing the same memory range but after that was changed it was fine. The problem I have is after using pppoe by winpoet to dial the dsl, the computer hard boots. It doesnt matter which NIC I use. If I disable either one it works fine. I am going out of my mind trying to figure out why! I have different irq's used, diff mem locations and I plan on using a virtual proxy like sygate to share the PC's..but I cannot use both cards at the same time. Any thoughts?

    who does that?!?

besides that...it is because you are using PPOE with the damn software that your ISP forces you to use and it disables the ICS connection to the other NIC. you need to get a dsl router and set it up for the PPOE connection. You can purchase one of these at pricewatch for ~$100

You might try using RasPPPOE instead of the winpoet software from your ISP. I had a similar problem, and RasPPPOE solved it nicely. Works fine with ICS too.

Thanks for the tips, I tried Rasppoe and it works much better than winpoet but I am still having the problem with the system shutting down on comunication if I have both nic's operating. It almost seems like a resource violation, like both nics are using the same resources but I have verified they arent...any more suggestions?
