is your firewall enabled? right click on the network icon, goto propertis then the advanced tab, make sure that the firewall is unchecked. what about file and print shareing, is it enabled?, DHCP, if so is it getting an ip?, if dhcp does this work with static Ip's

Another thought would be to enable NETBIOS over TCP/IP in the WINS tab on the properties of TCP/IP. I found this helped with XP being able to see the other machines running older OS's.

I would check the following things:
1.Ip address range and subnet of all three pc's
2.Firewall in xp
3.ping each pc
4.check the local user accounts on xp,I think U need Guest account enabled to do workgroup
5.make sure the pc's time and date ,time zone are all the same
6.share some files on xp (if U haven't already)
Good Luck!

This is probabaly your problem. Also, to make things super fast and slick, create host files and lmhost files on each of the machines. Look in <systemroot>\system32\drivers\etc for a sample file (lmhosts.sam and hosts.sam). They explain the syntax but basically, you just put the hostname and ip in. And make sure your hostnames match your dns names. It makes things resolve faster.
