I've been having problems with my computer lately since i've put it together. Just recently i was using Audiocatalyst, or everytime i use it, and everytime i get booted. Same goes for playing games. Should i update with Kenwoods firmware?

Updating the Kenwood Frimware is always a good idea..

your problems might have to do with the DMA problem..
try it and keep us posted..

kenwood CD-ROM's have some issues with DMA turned on..
this is why Kenwwod has issued a firmware update..
you can check in device manager if your CD-ROM is using DMA mode.
and try to disable it to see if it helps..
disabling DMA will decrease performance..

Condor i disabled the dma in the cdroms properties and as i was rebooting the computer i noticed that the bios has the cdrom on "dma mode-4". What is this type of dma and can you change it?

DMA mode 4 (ultra DMA 66) is not compatible with your CD-ROM !!!
you must go to the BIOS and change the properties for the channel the cd-rom is on (e.g Secondary master) to PIO (mode 4) or DMA mode 2 max..
also don;t use an UDMA 66/100 IDE cable for the CD-ROM..
get an OLD IDE cable (UDMA 2 max) for it.

Here is another thing i noticed as i was using Catalyst grabbing some songs. As it was grabbing i noticed that my keyboard lights (number lock, caps lock, and scroll lock) flashed and turned off which right after it rebooted. Can you tell of anything by this?

this might also indicate a power supply problem..
make sure you have a 300W PSU if you havea new computer (700MHz +)
