    Hi! does anyone knows what TCP port 139 does it is only activated when clients for MS network is installed what will happen if i close this port

    i would think that if you would close the port any other computer would not be able to connect to that pc, the port number isnt important you can use any port as long as the other puters can comunicate throu that port

    I believe port 139 is for NetBIOS calls. It is something internal like that. It is what a lot of the DoS (Denial Of Service) attacks used.
