Smile I am lost, please help me if you can

I bought a Sony DVD model number DDU1211 and it is an OEM version thus no support from sony. No drivers came with it. It works fine as a cd-rom but will not play dvd media without drivers. Can anyone help me find one or a generic one that will work. I thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

Maybe it needs a decoder card like the creative labs encore series of DVD players (DXR-3.) If it does need it, then I'm sure it won't work without it (but I'm only about maybe 60% sure on that one.)

I believe, the only thing needed is a Soft DVD player like PowerDVD, WinDVD etc.

We run a number of Creative DVD's without the decoder cards which I found to be pretty poor anyway.

Brokeback44 - When you say DVD Media, do you mean DVD-Video or just general DVD discs?

Thanks for the input people. I do not need a decoder card and am right now using the dvd add-on for the creative labs player which was bundled with my soundcard. It works ok I guess. Again, thanks for the help.
