[RESOLVED] Hosting VIA Internet And LAN At The Same Time
Hi,
This is my setup.
PC1 has 2 NICs ---- NIC1 Goes to cable modem (DHCP)
---- NIC2 Goes To Internal Network
The Cable connection is shared using WinRoute Lite (ICS Software)
PC2 is connected to PC1 via NIC--->Hub.
PC2 IP has been set to 192.168.1.2, Gateway is PC1s NIC2s IP (192.168.1.1)
This is what I am trying to do.
PC1 Hosts game of Dungeon Siege, PC2 then connects to game via IP addy. Also a PC from Internet connects to game via Internet IP Addy (62.xxx.xx.xx), this works, but only for a short period of time. You see.. After about 30secs-1min PC2 gets kicked from PC1 no matter if its during game play or in the Staging Area.
I have messed around with all the Port Mapping settings in WinRoute Lite, but nothing changes, below are the settings and recommendations from Mircrosoft.
Microsoft NAT Troubleshooting For Dungion Siege
"Alternatively you can enable specific ports. Dungeon Siege uses DirectPlay 8.1, which typically uses ports 6073, 2302, and 2300.
ZoneMatch Port
· AutoUpdate, Chat, Games List, News: 80 TCP
· 2300 UDP – Primary ZoneMatch Port.
Game Session Ports
· 6073 UDP - Primary: Inbound for Hosting, Outbound for Joining
· 2302-2400 UDP - Secondary: Inbound
· 2302-2400 UDP - Secondary: Outbound"
My WinRoute Lite Settings
PortMap1 6073----->PC1
PortMap2 2302-2400----->PC1
If i set all the above Packets to go to PC2, then when an External PC connects to PC2s game PC1 gets booted (after about 30sec). Sometimes external PC gets booted.
Also where the guide says "2302-2400 UDP - Secondary: Inbound" does that mean you can set any PORT number between 2302-2400, so instead of...
ProtMap2 2302-2400----->PC1 I could set
PortMap2 2350---->PC1
What I think the problem is, that no inbound/outbound packets are getting to PC2 (properly atleast). So if it is possible to set this up...
PortMap1 6073---->PC1
PortMap2 2302---->PC1 (Secondary In/Outbound)
PortMap3 2350---->PC2 (Secondary In/Outbound)
it may work.
Any ideas or is this sort of setup not possible?
Thanks For Help

What os are you running on pc1? If it's win2k or xp you can bridge the connections and you won't have to use winroute. I've used winroute and it was flaky like that.

Sorry Forgot to mention OS. Both PCs running WinXP Pro.
Did a bit of reading yesterday at MS Site, I found out that Directplay 8.1 Secondary In/Outbound ports start from 2302 so i should be able to assign...
2302---->PC1
2303---->PC2
Thanks for help
