No ICS on LAN
Greetings all. My 3 PC LAN stopped talking the other day and I am out of ideas. I have had all three talking to each other and sharing the Internet but one day it all stopped.
My network is
A = Win 2K with ICS enabled
B = Win ME
C = Win 98 SE
I got A and B to see each other, but C will not talk to either A or B nor will either talk to C. I have reinstalled protocols, reinstalled drivers for NICs, tried different cables, checked for conflicting IPs and tried a different hub all in vain.
I think the problem lies in the Win2K machine since I can ping it from PC B, but when I try it in Win 2K I get and error reading ?PING: transmit failure, error code 65.? What does this mean and how can I fix it?
Any advice is helpful?

you are probably using some personall firewall program (Zone alarm, BlackICE etc...)
make sure you "trust" the computers in your LAN or it will never work <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">
Error 65 means the computer wasn't able to send the "ping" packet..

I would suggest removing tcp/ip altogether on the Win2k box, rebooting and reinstalling. If that doesn't work, maybe try changing the nic. That firewall idea sounds good too, but only if you installed on just prior to this problem happening. Of course, if you did that, i'm sure you'd remember and would think that the likely cause.
