Dragonball Z...
I don't know what it is with grown folks, they can't seem to get enough of this stuff. Everyone I know is into Dragonball Z, except for me. When I ask them to explain this phenomena, no one can really say what they like about it so much. I'm not bashing it, I just want to know what's so interesting?

I don't get it either...but then, I never understood the fascination with Pokemon either. All I know is that my 8 year old son goes ballistic over it. He wants to buy a cartridge for 64-Nintendo but from what I can find out, they don't make one for 64-Nintendo...oh well.
Anyway, go here check out Dragaonball Z's Official Website

Funny, anime is one my guilty pleasures. However, I like most anime EXCEPT for DB and SM. My gf can't stand ANY of it and can't see how I enjoy it, but she will leave me alone to enjoy it. I guess I never grew up! lol!

Now, when I hean *anime* or *manga*, I think Gundam, Akira, Barefoot Gen and the like.
This Dragonball Z stuff just doesn't do it for me. Same with Pokemon. Storyline loses any appeal in about 3ns.
Here in Quebec I was priviledged to experience something called "Goldorak" (Grandizer in some US locations) - a little known manga of my childhood years ...and that's what got me hooked.

All I can say about Pokemon is.. Im sick of finding all the lame cards that no one likes on the floors of my home. Left my my Eight year old who seems to think they just dissapear into the emptiness of the dead world of Pokemon cards that no one wants.

see, i think most people don't realize the peculiar entertainment value of cheesy anime. it doesn't matter what the plot if any is, you just sit there and watch. i dont know why. and the problem is that you just can't get enough. there just isn't enough real anime out there right now, probably cause they have to cut out a ton of scenes on tv. heh, its great watching for all the odd editing and inconsistiencies on tv anime. like this time in dbz that roshi says he has a thing for bellybuttons and bulma shows him her bellybutton, but if you look closely the video stops for a moment as her shirt is halfway up, and then she puts it back down right away. or the countless times in tenchi muyo you notice the women's clothing, especially bikinis, doesnt match up to everything else. or the time in some show where a guy hands another guy what is obviously a liquor flask and asks "water?"
General Darksteel, fascist dictator, socially inept and clueless demagouge, and one man army of the L.U.R.K.

Yeah, have to agree, I don't know it is but it is the only show that I sit down and watch everyday. I think it's because it comes on cartoon network at midnight which is when I'm done working on computers and actually have the ability to sit down and do something other than computers. I have somehow got stuck on Gundam Wing and am contemplating buying the gundam DVD's.
