Went to count mine and found 4 cables not attached to anything. I ought to clean under my desk a little more often.

I dont bother to count what I have back there, and being that im just a tad anal retentive with my own machine, I keep all of the cords together with tie wraps.

Only problem is, each time I add a new one I gotta set it up again.

I doubt if anything could beat my setup when I was working at Sensormatic. I had 3 digital recorders, each of which could handle 16 channels. That's 48 cables just for video feeds, not counting keyboards, mice, etc.

Here at home, I have a pretty good tangle of cables. Probably around 40 cables just for this one server.

I think I had a pretty normal set up until I read this post.
I do most of my managment via VNC so just 1 computer here:
Power
Mouse/keyboard
Serial 1- UPS
Serial 2- Palm Pilot
Speakers/mic/headset
S-video/ AC-3 outputs to my stereo
Loop back cable (old DVD decoder card)
USB joystick
2 Nic cards (so 2 Cat5e cables to the wall)
Printer
2 Monitor cables (2 video cards)

That's 17 if I counted right

I didn't count the printer power cords or the monitor power cords, the router and server are in the hall closet (no keyboard, monitor or mouse)
just Power and Cat5e

So That would make 20
