Question our own mortality
Well, a guy I work with went to have some CT scans done yesterday. Without knowing too many details, he has been told he needs to travel to the capital city, to get more accurate tests. It doesnt sound too crash hot.
Whatver it is, he is a pretty determined little bastard. If its nothing, he's fine, if it is somehting, I know he will attempt, in his own way, to kick its a$$. But, he is only 21.
Makes me wonder if we are taking things for granted. Makes me want to do something more constructive with the time I have.
Anyones thoughts?

I'm sorry to hear about your coworker. And believe me dude,.. ever since 911 and some other personal things I've been around and experienced lately, I've been thinking about this very subject alot. Had lots of interesting conversations lately with friends and family about it too. Life is so short. Make it worthwhile. I have sooooo many views and opinions on this that there's no way I'm going to be able to type them all up here in a post. My motto lately has been just to live everyday like it's your last. I think I even posted that phrase in a different thread here in the lounge just a few moments ago. It might sound a bit cliche', but it has sooo much meaning if you really think about it.

I hear you, EC...
Having spent fifteen years working as a paramedic in a Detroit ER, I've seen just about every way a person can get hurt and/or sick. I do not take any day for granted.
FWIW...I still play weekly poker games with a bunch of Docs I used to work with. If your coworker has any questions as a result of the upcoming tests, and he's not getting the answers he needs, let me know. I may be able to dig some info up.
Luck to your friend.
