    Post maxtor ata100pci adapter card

    i have a maxtor 40gig ata 100 hdd.i want to add a 20g fujitsu that is udma66.i have a cdrw & cdr.mb is asus-p3v4x win.98-2.do i disable any thing in bios setup to move the 40g to the new card?scsi bios is set to auto.

    I'm sorry, i don't understand what you're doing. Are you adding a PCI IDE controller?

    yes, im going to install it friday. i looked back 19 pages in this category and did not find anything about this.i bought a card today and the instr. are a little fuzzy to me.

    i had this set up in my last machine. matxtor ata 100, 20 gig and a 40 connected, with the cdrom on the second header...for some reason the cd-rom worked better thru the card...ne ways the point..i just put mine in and booted up. got the drivers switched the ide cables and it ran like a camp no bois settings nothing...

    thanks Chris for the reply.i had to change the scsi bios from auto to disable and it worked fine.i do see better speed.
