The ACLU would never let something like this slide. It might get passed, but would be in the supreme court within a year. I bet with the right backing it would easily be overturned and deemed unconstitutional. But it is really scarry that they keep pushing for this stuff, you know Ashcroft is licking his lips for laws like this.

it is just a matter of time before something like this is passed. i don't understand the concern expressed here though. time and time again subjects like this have been brought up in these forums and no one seems to care. cameras are everywhere...email is read...bank accounts and purchases are tracked...and now the government wants the wireless companies to track the whereabouts of cell users and give them the info. so what is another small intrusion?

This has been turned down in congress already twice. Neither Democrat or Republican would vote for this. Im not a cynic, I just know the truth. We would ban guns before this would be passed.

I dunno about that. The people chasing this sort of control, are generally the ones that least understand it. I bet you they understand guns.. point, click, bang, and its your constitutional right to have one. But computers?.. arent they something those damn communists use ?.. better put some control on them..

Perhaps you misunderstood me,

without cynics like myself, this world would be surprised on a regular basis.
Someone has to point these things out.
We can't let our own government try to sneak cr@p like this by us.
