    Ok, Guys and Ladys,

Im getting Charter Pipeline Installed Tomorrow (Fiday August 17, 2001)

I want some feedback from all of you who have Cable Internet. This is the only thing I get right now.

I want to know how it works how the service is what should I expect etc..

I have heard it will go out sometimes which is ok as long AS IS DOESNT GO OUT AT NIGHT WHEN IM ON!

I have 5 tvs with cable hooked to them that im not paying, Im only paying for 1 tv so, do they check this?

Do you leak any fluids, do you have any bumps on your rear, do you have any unpleasant odors?
If you answered yes to any of these then you are not qualified to own a new AMD ATHLON XP.
If someone ask you if you are running the all-new fastest AMD ATHLON XP, just turn around and reply "WHY YES, AND ITS CERTIFIED"

Let us know how the performance is after it is installed, then we can suggest any tweaks or action to improve speed if required.

Yes, and they will likely fine you for it. I suggest you remove all traces of that illegal wiring!

    Well I got it installed.

Bad thing was I the tech guy couldnt get it to work, so I had to go in and make it work, but other wards he didnt do anything and it works great. Cant believe the speed. After haveing 3k a sec for 6 years now getting 60k a sec is a big change I love it.

    So any tips or tweaks?

I did alittle registry tweak but nothing major.

So are other people saying you will have to pay more for the cable because it is hooked up to more than one tv??? That dont sound right. I mean, whats gonna happen when the phone company comes around hooks up one phone jack and thats it?? No. Putting a splitter on so you can have cable on more than the one tv it was hooked to? You pay the cable service to be hooked up to your tv. They offer the ability to hook up to other tvs for those who dont know how to.
If it aint broke, TWEAK it!
When in doubt, throw it out!!

Taz is right, You pay for cable to be connected to your "HOUSE". it doesn't matter how many TV's you have.

Same with the phone company you pay for the service to get to your house ,how many phones you have makes know difference unless you have insurance/wire care for your lines.

You're not comparing apples to apples. Putting in multiple phone jacks doesn't increase the level of your phone service, it only increases the convenience for the homeowner. No matter how many phones you have attached to a single line, you can still only make a single phone call.

Putting in multiple cable outlets or splitting existing ones without the knowledge of the cable company is THEFT, because by doing so you now have the ability to watch different channels on different TV's. I'm not making this up. If a landlord got one cable connection and split it 100 ways for all his tenants, do you think the cable company would approve? Back in BC, one cable company is so strict about this, that they won't even let you split a cable outlet to feed two inputs of a picture-in-picture TV. The rules for each cable provider may be different so if in doubt, CALL. It's not worth going to court over.

Things must be a little more "lax" over here in the USA. If you want to get all technical, if you have purchased cable internet and you split it off so you can get free cable, then it will be stealing. If you purchase cable tv service for one tv and you put a splitter in then it will degrade the service but not enough to notice. I have never heard the cable tv people say "You are legally allowed to watch this cable on one tv only. If you watch it on another tv, you will get two cable tv bills." If that is the way it is in Canada, I would think its time to move to the good ol' USA.

    Check it,

When you buy Cable for your house this is only for one TV. If you split the cable and hook it to another tv then you must pay for that other tv. If not then thats stealing. They used to have Cable checks where the cable company would come and check your cable. But now we can do our own cable but if they come in and see more than one tv hooked to the cable and find out that your only paying for one tv then you will be charged for all the other connections.

All they have to do is inforce it. Same thing if I run a red light or kill someone. As long as no one sees it or says anything or inforces it you will not be cought.
