The excitement and anticipation builds among Gen-Xers when rumors of this project surfaced. The Goonies 2 seemingly promises to be every bit as engaging as its predecessor Goonies. The sequel will bring back most of the characters from the original including the Fratelli gang. The grown-up Mikey unites Mouth, Chunk, Data and the rest of the club for another adventure involving caverns, treasures, and good ole booby traps.
Corey Feldman has apparently shown interest in returning to the project with no word on Sean Astin, Josh Brolin, or any of the others.
The script is written by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci with development taking place at Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment. Richard Donner directed The Goonies.

The 1st Goonies was okay, But is it really worth it???
If anyone here remembers the original BLUES BROTHERS movie and how funny it was. Then, a couple of years ago, they made a sequel and it didn't really stand up to the original that well.
Just best to leave the classics alone. But Hollywood is desperate nowadays to do anything.

This movie is a mistake.
I loved Blues Brothers, and they made a sequel that destroyed the original.
I can't watch the firstt the same way anymore.
Leave GOONIES Alone !!!

(who will probably end up renting it anyway)

Ahh leave it be. Might be a fun way to relive some of our childhood. BTW, Chunk lost a LOT of weight!
