Hey, does anybody remember how to make the "folder that can't be deleted" in Windows? You know, where you use a control character instead of a space? Can you do it from a command prompt inside Windows or do you have to actually reboot to a DOS prompt? I'm at my husband's office right now, and I want to do it to him so bad!

Why don't you do the one where the desktop items are not clickable....do a printscreen of the desktop, set it as his wallpaper, then push all the icons off the left side of the screen, so it looks like everything is ok, but when hw goes to do something, nothing will click.

ALT-255 on key pad. You can just goto dos prompt (doesn't work on 2000). So at prompt do md f alt-255 U. IT will make a directory that can only be removed via DOS (rd command).

In response to dir's question: Get TweakUI from MS to remove desktop icons. You should really start a new thread for your own questions rather than adding to somebody else's.
