    Question I/O subsystem Error

    I have Compaq Armada (portable)

After instaling aditional software , a got an Error massage :

    While initializing device IOS :
Error : An I/O subsistem driver faild to load.
Either a file in the .\iosubsys subdirectory is corrupt, or the system is low on memory.

I replaced all files in .\iosubsys directory.

I did find a solution , but i had to format the drive and reinstal the system with restore CD .

Can any one have some sugestion , to fix these problem more quickly.

    go to safe mode.
start, find, files & folders, "RMM.PDR", rename it
start, find, files & folders, "SMARTDRV.EXE", rename it
    restart, go to normal mode.
you need to d/l iosfix.exe....you can find it on several sites just do a search on it,,,
It will expand to quite a few files.
    Double-click on RMM2UPD.EXE. Problem fixed.
If this doesn't work, you will need to format & reinstall windows.
