    Red face floppy drive

I'm using NT Workstation 4. When I try to access floppy disks, I get one of several errors: "A:\is not accessible. Data error (cyclic redundancy check)."; "A:\is not accessible. The drive cannot find the sector requested."; "A:\ is not accessible. The volume does not contain a recognized file system. Please make sure that all required system drivers are loaded and that the volume is not corrupt."; "A:\ is not accessible. The disk media is not recognized. It may not be formatted."

There are no errors on boot up, A: shows up in windows explorer. I've switched cables and floppy drives, and reloaded all drivers. The floppy disks can be read in other pcs before putting them into this pc.
What else could I check? I'm at a loss right now.
    Thanks. <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

Older Compaq cases (yes you heard me right, *cases*) act funny with floppy drives sometimes, because of the pressure surronding it.

If it's not that, you've already tried everything man, just replace the drive, they're only about $10.

I have tried a few different drives and they all act the same way. This is a micron pc. My next step is to send the pc back to the vendor.

    Thanks.

Try booting off a Win9x boot disk. If you get an error, it is either the drive, cable or controller. Being that you have replaced the drive and cable, I imagine that all signs point to the controller.

If the sys is under warranty, give Micron a call and have them replace everything.

I also agree, it has to be the controller.

    call Micron about it.
