Post Stealth Boot Virus and disappearing partition

I have killed the virus but can't come up with a way to restore the partition without dong FDISK. The 6GB drive is now down to 2GB. I would like to salvage what data I can on this drive. I have Partition Magic 5.0 but reading the book doesn't offer any real info on restoring this partition in DOS mode. My only other idea is to put in a new hard drive, set it up and then chain the old drive to it and then try to copy what data I can. Does anyone know of a better way to reclaim this data? Currently this drive will not boot.

From partition Magic 5, create a pair of rescue disks on floppy. Then you can boot the machine with the drive you want to fix from the rescue disks and re-partition without data loss to your heart's content.
