on sandra soft benchmarking utility it says my pci bus is 33mhz. does that mean if i put in a controller card for ata133 that it will only run at 33mhz?
The Front Side Bus speed for your Motherboard is the measurement of how fast the system can talk to the RAM...
Odds are your card is an ata100 card. You see that means that the card can communicate with the hard drive at 100 MB/sec. The 32 bit PCI bus can only handle 133 MB per sec. The latest spec for PCI includes a 64 bit, 66 Mhz spec, which would increase your available throughput to 532MB/s.
