Ever been on a tech forum where people didn't trash Microsoft, Packard Bell, Compaq, etc...
Could you imagine if they started to sue all of us?

that's just freakin' insane!
I honestly can't believe the reaction that petswarehouse.com has taken.
It's a simple concept called customer service, you apologize and try to make good on your promises, not sue your customer base because you provide lack luster goods and they discuss it.

What's even worse is that this case wasn't immediately thrown out for its blatant stupidity.

Pets Whorehouse (heh) are sueing the people that posted negative comments in a forum. Some members of that forum, have actually settled (paying money TO Petswarehouse.com!!) as they could not continue to afford legal representation! how insane is this?
Seriously, I wonder how that day in the office went...
Boss: "Hey, I heard someone doesnt like our service, and is letting people know that we suck.."
Underling: "Lets sue! All of them. Twice!
Boss: "Hey, great idea Barry! But to think this one through properly, we're gunna need us some liqour...."
Anyone object if I email this thread to a few people, to get some attention? First its fish-farmers, then who the hell is next?

For those who want to know this is the settlement agreement. Very intersting stipulations and it seems there is a lot more details in this case than can be gleemed from the original slashdot article. Pay close attention to stipulations #2 through #8.

Thanks Pakprotector, I was a little confused on who was being sued.
I hope that this is not a trend that all Companies are going to follow.

What Im really stunned at, is that these people are an internet based business, so they must have some idea of how online communities work. I am stunned they would bite the hand that feeds them, in such a disgusting fashion.
