We went on a tour of the city to queens, bronx, china town, New Jersey, Harlem, little italy, Coney Island, Ground Zero, Statue of liberty, Elis Island, Central Park etc etc etc. I had to take her round the shops as well [Credit card bill is going to be nice ]
We also went to a show the city put on called Broadway Under the Stars which was pretty cool. Right after the show we went to the Empire State Building where I asked her.

What part of New Jersey?

Talking

I was going to come on and mention something to cut you down here but I cant. Even the incident on the plane I cant bring up cause you handled it great. Damm I hate you for that [Smurf knows what I mean, private joke. He's good at telling these stupid things so ask him ]

As for the proposal I dont think it could of been planned better if he tried. The night begun with a romantic picnic Bryant Park watching an outside show. Afterwards he suggested seeing as it was a loveley night why not go to the Empire States Building to see the lights of the city. I didnt see what was coming next. One minuite there I am climbing the Empire States building to see New York City at night and the next thing I know I'm engaged talk about a surprise. He said some lovely things to me which will stay with me forever, I admit I got a bit tearful, but who could blame me.

Cheers babe for the most wonderful holiday ever and I hope we have many more of these times together.

PS

Thank you everyone that has wished us well in this thread we both appreciate it.
The force you struck me down caught me by surprise,
You sprung the mojo and it worked like a charm,

I guess I noticed this one late....

Congradulations you two!!! Papa Smurf, I knew you would be joining the club soon (the "Married Guys" club). It sounds as if you two have something very special there. I wish you two nothing but the best.

Since Morticia have been married for almost a year and a half, I will offer up a little advice. Keep the laughter going. Make each other laugh and put the other before yourself.

You do those two things and after a year and a half your marriage will feel like you arent "married" (said in an exasperated tone) but it will feel like you are dating someone who just changed her last name to yours.
So many guys I worked with in the military always talked like marriage was such a pain.... it was miserable... it was almost enough to make a man think twice.

After being married to Morticia for a year, I realized what their problem was.... they didnt marry someone who was a part of them. They didnt marry someone who was their dream come true, like Morticia is to me.... like the way you two sound to each other.

Just be each others "dream come true" and way later on down the road, you will be 95 wearing diapers chasing each other around frisky and laughing as if you are a pair of frisky 18 yr olds in love.
If it aint broke, TWEAK it!
When in doubt, throw it out!!
