    Resolved [RESOLVED] Custom avatar

Ok..... I am a fairly intelligent guy. BUT trying to get a custom avatar going is making me feel like an idiot! LOL

I uploaded the pic after I named it appropriately. I have waited a few days and have yet to see anything in the choises of avatars to indicate that mine is there. I even tried uploading again and it said one was already there.

My backup technician, alias MorticiaAdams; my wife, pointed out that I uploaded a JPG instead of a GIF file.

Does anyone know how to convert a JPG to a GIF?

Fireworks (Macromedia) will let you do it, download the 30 day trial if you don't own it

Or if that's too much trouble..believe it or not mspaint can save as GIF and open JPG

You PM'd me in regards to a custom avatar.

Do I take it that you no longer need me to work on this?

I had already started on a "drumming Taz" concept and another where Taz is ripping apart a PC...

Once you have your GIF (Thumbs+ and - I think - ACDSee can convert file formats, as can Paint Shop Pro), uploading it will replace the JPG. After that, Scott will have to remove previous GIFs for you to upload a new one.

<marquee><font color="black" height="16" width="90" behavior="alternate" scrollamount="2">If anyone else is interested, just PM me with image proposal, color schemes, style, etc. and I'll see what I can do.</marquee>

    ------------------
It says: "Cannot read from drive D:...."
It means: "... However, if you put the CD in right side up..."

It says: "Directory does not exist...."
It means: ".... any more. Whoops."

It says: "The application caused an error. Choose Ignore or Close."
It means: "....Makes no difference to me, you're still not getting your

What do your do when you can't create a file name that matches your username? I can't. / is not acceptable in a file name.

Scott -may- upgrade these forums to the new PHP based forum software currently being used on the company forums. If so, then avatar file names become based on your member number, which will get around the problems associated with strange user names.
    But don't hold your breath.

In the meantime, you can put your avatar in your signature line. If you or anybody else needs somewhere to host their avatar, then send me a private message with your email.
