Smile I'm reverting to my early teens!

Well the healing process is taking it's darn time and I am doing a little work from home now (about 3 hrs. a day). To pass the days I've tried a few games, but I didn't like them; Q3, Myst III, and a couple of others. There were a couple I liked but tired of; Max Payne (that one was awesome-took me 4 days to get to the end) and Fox Arcade - Buffy the Vampire Slayer Pinball (corny but I liked it). I mean this as no slap at those who play it's as I've mentioned before I'm not much of a gamer.
My lovely wife (she really is ) went down to the local Hobby Shop and bought me a P-51D Mustang and Spitfire MK 11 model kits and ordered me a ME-109 kit + also ordered me the USS Arizona and the USS The Sullivan. She also bought me a full Tester's paint kit. I've spent most of this evening working on the P-51D cockpit (painting, sanding & gluing). Man I feel like I'm 13 all over again!
I only post using 100% recycled electrons!!!

Stay on the bomb run, boys. I'm going to get them doors open if it hair lips everybody on Bear Creek.

    Great stuff...have fun!

I wish I knew where my Airfix models went - I last remember having them before a big family move when I was 16. Planes hanging 'round the room on fishing line, bikes & MV's on the shelf, the smell of Humbrol...

Can we look forward to some pics of your handiwork?

There are much worse hobbies you could get involved with, but there will give you a finished product that you can display.

    Good luck!

I should get back into model rockets..

My, my wife and I are just putting the finishing touches on a Spiderman model.

Fitting, filling, sanding and color selections were done by me.

My son too kare of gluing the pieces together and painting the first coats on the backdrop.

My wife finished off the fine details and applying clear coat where needed.

Pak that brings back alot of memories. I used to build the Revell 1/32 scale airplanes, P-51, Corsair, Zero, P38 Lightning, etc. I'd really get into detailing them with bulletholes and bent props and other battlescars. I had planes hanging from the ceiling in dogfights and displayed on shelves. I also had alot of fun with model rockets. Enjoy!!

Nitro r/c yet another of my expensive vices. Why can't I just like knitting.

Pak, I bet you're getting quite the high from that modeling glue. The stuff used to make me real dizzy while I was attempt to build.

Hehe thanks everyone. Adept Spidey looks AWESOME!!! Kymera my kit came with the non-toxic blue tube glue , so I get no er...fume diversion! I was never into the cars, always planes or ships (but the RC's look interesting). I also did some dynaramas, but don't intend to get that detailed now. Arghhh snowmobiles (it's snowing here today). I called the hobby shop today and ordered a P-39 AirCobra and The Graf Spee. He's also holding an A-10 Warthog for me (I fell in love with these beast while living in Tucson, where the A-10 training base is DM AF Base).

Now that you mention the Graf Spee, I recently bought my Dad a model of the Tirpitz. I think he may need some help with it

Aw man. Where I used to live (long, long time ago) I had a buddy that got me into them big time. He gave me all kinds of model planes. I would spend a great many hours out of the day putting the final touches on them, making them perfect. Then we moved, and darn near every one of them was destroyed.... after that I never really got back into them

Hey Kymera, what kinda vehicles do you drive?

I have a Traxxas T-MAXX, Losi NXT, and I just built a hopped up Ofna Ultra-MBX 1/8th scale buggy. All nitro of course.

Didn't know that anyone here shared that EXPENSIVE addiction of mine.

It should! I filled, sculpted and sanded this baby 4 times before I was satisfied with the results

Our paint job is very similar to that of the picture (who does it "exactly" alike anyhow ).

I still have the USS Constitution, complete with cloth sails) in a box - waiting for me to gather up enough courage to start working on it...

What I'd really like to get my hands on is Robotech/Macross/Gundam Wing kits, but they're almost impossible to find where I live

Funny, I was throwing out some junk from my Ex and found a box with a model I never finished..a 1949 Merc. You can build it one of three ways: Stock, Custom, and Drag..I chose a mixture of the Drag and Custom..black with black and silver interior..I found that most of it was done and painted..engine all done etc..just need to glue it all together....My dad used to build models all the time and for a while when I was kid I had his Purple '53 chevy...think my mom threw it out...

Geez Tacklebox it's ironic you bought your dad the Tripitz, one of my Dynarama's was of the Bismark (Tripitz sister ship), Prince Eugen, HMS Hood and HMS Ark Royal (couldn't find the Prince of Wales). It took me 6 days to finish that thing! That was 30 yrs. ago I have no idea what happened to it.
