Hard Drive Shows as a removable device??
If any one can tell me why my C: icon shows up as a removable device icon instead of the hard disk icon that would be great. I dont know if maybe i need to update the motherboard drivers or what. I have tried scandisking defraging because there was some crosslinked files. But once that was cleared up it still read as a removable device.
Thanks in advance

There may be nothing wrong with your hardware. Delete the file "ShellIconCache" in the c:\windows directory and reboot. It's possible that your icons have been corrupted. This will force Windows to build your icon cache from scratch.

Do you have any Iomega products? I've seen IomegaWare cause some funny things like that.

Have you looked at the properties for the Hard Drive in Device Manager. Under Settings, perhaps the Removable box is checked?
