i heard they were going to wait until after Return of the King comes out before releasing a dvd. then release all three as a box set.
on a side not, a friend was telling me about a version of Episode I that has been edited. all traces of Jar Jar were taken out. has anyone else heard of this?

To answer some of the questions:
"LOTR : Fellowship of the Ring" should be out on DVD by September this year. I hear rumours of around 20 minutes extra footage (holy hell, they want to make it longer?) and around 6 hours worth of extras.
The version of Episode 1 without Jar Jar, is known as 'The Phantom Edit'. The dudes page can be found <a href="http://www.thephantomeditor.com/" target="_blank">here.</a>
He did is as a project for himself, and didnt mean for it to become the hype machine it did, but the page goes into more detail about that.
Oh yeah.. and
