I have a job interview
I have a job interview comeing up real soon [days away]. The new position I'm going for is a senior analyst [Its a cover job for my MI6 secret agent life] in a group which I have been looking to get into for a couple of years now.
I made a few calls to some mates who work in this group who all agree that I have enough knowledge and experience to fit right in without any probelms.
I know I have knowledge to do the job, I also know my existing boss has put a very good word in for me and even recommened me himself for this position.
I will be getting interviewed by 2 people face to face. This doesnt bother me as I work my best in situations like this and feel resonable confident in walking into the room and making a good impression. The interview itself is ment to be very relaxed and non-threatening so theres no danger of a good cop bad cop routine going on.
I really want this job so does anyonw have any sensible suggestions [No guys, killing the other people up of the interview is NOT an option as I heard they have family who would miss them and they would want to know what happened to them ] on how to handle the interview.
Cheers

Papa Smurf, this is what I did when I got ready for the interview for this current position.
First off I made a music CD with the appropriate music to get my blood and mind and enthusiasm pumping. I listened to that on the way there and when I was getting ready.
Once I got there, I did my "old ritual".
My old ritual came about when I was unemployeed for six months (old roommates held back phone calls) and my now wife went with me to this interview. She got me pumped up. Once we got there I said "Angel, they might as well hand over the job. They just dont know who they are messing with. If they want to waste their time and mine by having me answer their questions, that is them. I will play the game. They might as well just hand the job over because it is mine. Well, I will be back in a few. I got a job to go get."
I got that job.
I always take a picture of her and I and say a little speech like that, then I go in.
I did it this time and here I am.
Basically get yourself so pumped up without oozing arrogance.
After this last interview the ladies who set it up for me said the interviewer was pumped up after we finished and I got the offer right there.
If it aint broke, TWEAK it!
When in doubt, throw it out!!

In my current position, my interviews usually ended with me asking the employer questions - specific questions about what they expected me to do, how my performance was to be evaluated, etc.
It makes the employer take notice that you really do care about being the right person for them and that you are also "sizing them up" in a way to see if they have any idea what you're being hired for.
*****ion and self-assuredness = good
Arrogance and BSing your capabilities and accomplishments = bad
I won't wish you luck, 'cause secret agents don't need it. They survive on pure skill. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

My "interview" for the position I have now was a 2½ day affair!!! They flew me up to the job site in Alaska and I interviewed with 12 different managers and supervisors. There was nothing in my experience to prepare me for that, so I just relaxed and decided to be myself. Six weeks later I got the "job of my dreams".
Just be yourself Papa you will do fine and good luck. I'm hoping the best for you!
