    Post Woohoo woohoo DSL BACK

From anywhere in 10 minutes to 2 hours, I shall shift from the temporary 256kbps connection Ive been "using" to a steady static ip 1mbps dsl connection!!!! THANK GOD. Now I can get those pings back down to 30.

    Bastard!!!

I wish I could get a DSL line like that but when I ask the local co-op, they tell me "its up to 1.5MBps" Then I say "no....it should be a set amount of bandwidth...like 256/512/1MBps etc..." then they say "well we really don't know" and then I say "Bye...I'm sticking with cable until you know what you are talking about." and then I leave.

    I hate stupid salespeople.

lol. Yeah. Dsl really goes up to like 7mbps. And you can get each stage up to there. I use qwest. Their website explains everything.

I hated Qwest when I was out in New Mexico. They bought out US West and they went down hill from there.

Qwest was bad for like a month. I bought it during that time. I used to lose connectivity once every 2 hours for about 5 minutes at a time. It was nasty....but I haven't had a single disconnect in over 8 months, and the only interrupts I would get is when I get a new dynamic ip every 3 weeks.

Qwest is a great company to go with now. And its not even Qwest that im signed up with anymore. Once your above 564/640kbps, its really USWEST.

I would get lower in Quake3 based games.... Im talking Halflife based. In HL games like CS or DOD, anything lower than 25 is sitting next to the server.

Thats impossible. Especially with TFC which hasn't been graced with the newest of Netcode. Playing a LAN game in TFC will only get you pings of 11-30. With more than 1 person.

I get pings of 0 and 1 when playing Quake3. Maybe being plugged into the same 100Mbit switch as the server has something to do with it though......

Welcome back to the DSL ranks, gxavier.

I used to run an PCI DSL modem at 1.5 Mbps. I switched to external w/ router and now I get as high as 10Mbps at times. Modem was exp though $160USD.
