Winamp would be a good choice for that setup (If the system can handle the mp3 decoding)
If you have a network you can share the mp3 directories to pull the tracks.
I like the idea, I was going to do something simular once but my spare crap PC was only a 133 cyrix...didn't work too well, it hung often.
