Power down via keyboard
I changed keyboards recently. The new "better" keyboard came with drivers etc, but now the power & sleep buttons don't work. I get a message about "A device driver or program won't allow it".
Any ideas ????
Thanx in advance.

Do you mean the power/sleep buttons on your computer, or power/sleep buttons on the keyboard (some of em have specialized buttons)?

Do you have sleep mode disabled on your computer either in the BIOS on in Windows? You might check your settings both under system / properties and in control panel / power. ...

Unplug any USB devices then try, as USB devices are notorious for stopping sleep/standby/hibernation actions. If the Keyboard is USB, try it with a PS/2 convertor (if available)

it must be the keyboard's drivers preventing stand by. My wireless 900mhz keyboard does the same.
