    Unhappy Windows XP networking -HELP!-

    Hello all,
I have recently set up a linksys wireless access point + router connected to my cable modem. All the hardware is set up correctly and my settings for the router are also correct. I have 2 WinME machines connecting and one WinXP machine connecting. One of my problems is that my winxp machine constantly gets kicked off the network. Maybe a DHCP problem? I have assigned it a static ip so that shouldn't be it . Sometimes the xp machine will take all the machines down with it, but usually it is only the xp machine that gets kicked. I can't figure out the problem. Any suggestions? PS: I am using the xp provided drivers for the wireless card.

    dismount /BRAIN
    load computers.nlm

I haven't seen this problem yet, so I can't tell you for sure, but it does sound like just a driver issue to me. I have seen many devices that Windows has drivers for, but don't work properly until you get the XP drivers from the manufacturer.

Unless you are running say a webserver or something that needs a static internal IP with NAT, you should be able to set it up using all DHCP and dynamic internal IP's. Not saying your way won't work, but it almost seems over-engineered to me
