XP Newbie
I have customers machine I'm working on....first time I've dealt with XP...Home edition I cannot for the life of me get an internet connection! The modem tests out fine, every thing else is is as it should be. I got to thinking that with all the hoops MS has you jump through to register, is the fact that I'm trying to connect from a diffrent phone number of any significance? Has MS become that paranoid and anal?

XP is very anal with some stuff. one thing you may want to try is to reset the TCP/IP protocol to defaults.. look here for info on how to do it.
Other than that, try reinstall DUN

that's usually what I do when there are no problems that can be found.
resest everything like it was before you messed with it and then take your time setting things up.
good luck
