Does XP Pro have a built in Proxy Server?
I am looking to use my PC as a proxy when I am online, so my wife can get online also.
I have a home LAN, just got a new machine with XP, I used to use a 3rd party proxy. I was hoping that XP had one instead.
Anyone know?
Thanks

Just run the Network Setup Wizard on XP and follow the instructions. What OS is running on the clients? As long as you have them configured for DHCP and to detect proxy settings, then they should be able to get on the web.
I've even been able to surf the web on my WinXP network using Macintosh and Linux CPUs by setting them up like this.

If you have a working network and one computerusing the internet, just right click your internet connection in the network connections screen and check the sharing box, also you can click advanced on the same window and select which connection protocol you want to use the nice thing about it it that if you are using Msn Messenger on one of the client computers it automatically maps its self through the sharing computer
