xp crashes with K/B input
When working in explorer, navigating to files with the keyboard results in explorer crashing and restarting. Pressing any key with a window open and hi-lighted does this. Other apps work fine. Dont know how it started, just pisses me off haveing to rename files by cut & past (slow!)
It would be nice to find a way to fix it without reinstalling...

Have you done all the normal things?
Defrag
Install all Patches from Windows Update
Remove all temp files
Remove all Internet Explorer Offline content
Remove all temporary internet files
If none of these work, I would repair the install of XP.

Hmmm After installing kazaa on my win 2000 system,
What do You Know?? Same problem...
I suspected this before and did an uninstall and restart but no fix. I have taken all options as far as system updates & maintenance. just have to reinstall. I wonder if anyone else has found this to be the case.the app log has come up with this which now makes me suspect McAfee
"The application, explorer.exe, generated an application error The error occurred on 04/09/2002 @ 01:45:12.628 The exception generated was c0000005 at address 11C05D62 (ScanXReleaseVirusEngine) "
Any Ideas?
