Ambient HAM modems not responding
I have used a few of these cheap hardware modems on a number of diff mobo's and never had any probs at all, but am at the moment having probs with 3 of them. All under win98se but 2 on ecs k7s5a and 1 on old p133. Am getting 'modem is not responding' a lot, but somtimes can get thru. Seem to have found a work around/solution in unchecking com.drv=comm.drv in system.ini/boot (on one of the ECS pc's) but am not really sure what I have done. Is this a permanent fix do you think?

Thanks a lot to both of you guys, I have emailed freddy asking for a copy of the win98se and xp drivers and will get back if this dosnt solve prob.
What I dont understand is that the same brand of modem has worked fine in every pc I've built until recently but now I have 3 useing the drivers supplied that obviously have a software prob. Can anyone tell me what I've done in system config that has improved the situ??
P.S.: could you post the drivers???
