Windows XP Pro and Home
I heard that windows xp home can play more games and programs than Pro. Is it true? Cuz some programs such as opengl and Recoil won't install on my machine and sees it as a windows NT OS. My graphics are not as good on XP then when I was using 98

What video card are you using? Which drivers for the video card are you using (if they are the ones supplied with XP then all OpenGL & DirectX capabilities will be disabled until you install the manufacturer/reference drivers)?
Try installing the game by running the Setup command in W98 compatiability mode (r-click the executable and select run in w98 mode from the compatiability tab). I have yet to run into a program that wil not install under XP (both Pro or Home).

Im with you on the OpenGL performance, it was better in 98. As for XP home running games and programs more of or better than pro its not true at all. Have a look at the application compatability to see if it helps you out. Many older programs will identify XP as NT.

My video card is from Gallant Computer Inc, Illusion 740.
The drivers I'm using is the latest from my manufacturer
Well thanks, that cleared things up.
Also, I don't see any "run in win98 mode"...

You have to right click the setup file on teh CD (via Windows Explorer), goto the Compatiability tab, check the box to run in compatiability more, then select Win98/ME from teh drop down list. Click OK then run the Setup executable and your game should then install.
