    Post ID a file. Bgswitch.

    Unkowen file running at startup with a invalid signature. Just investigating. The details are:

    Bgswitch.exe signed by Lou Amadio issued by microsoft VBLO3 (D3) Expired on Feb 16 2002

    Anyone know what this is and its function?

    bgswitch is one of the Microsoft powertoys. It's the background switcher. You have an old version of the power toys which is set to expire after a certain date.

    You can download the newer version here:

    If you download the powertoys directly from MS, you'll find that the background switcher isn't a part of the package. That's because it was pulled by MS for unknown reasons. But you can still download it (and the rest of the cancelled XP powertoys) from the link I supplied above.

    Cheers. Ill just turn it off and leave it at that. Never used it anyway.
