Defrag STOP 0x0000000A error
I recently used Drive Image 2002 to copy Windows XP home edition from one dive to another after I had upgraded the computer. Now when I try to run Defrag, after a few seconds I get a STOP 0x0000000A error. I know this error is mainly a hardware error but I can't think of anything that would be causing it. Funny thing is I can run it in safe mode. Any ideas?

Did you upgrade anything else in the IDE chain (motherboard, raid controller etc)? You might need a different driver for the IDE controller or you might just need to reinstall it.

I've never used XP, but hopefully <a href="http://support.microsoft.com/directory/article.asp?ID=KB;EN-US;Q314063&LN=EN-US&rnk=5&SD=tech&FR=0&qry=STOP%200x0000000A&src=DH CS_MSPSS_tech_SRCH&SPR=WINXP&" target="_blank">this</a> will help you out some.
Good luck!

Thank you for the replies. The error seemed to have vanished. I was testing hardware and when I unplugged my cd burner it went fine, but to make sure I also plugged it back in and it worked fine...??? Ok, what happened. The only other change that I had made was to disable prefetching because it was screwing up my boot time. Come to think of it I was getting most of my errors after I installed bootvis... Oh well, I'm done with it.
