Error with CDRom
Can anybody tell me which device drivers are loaded for your cdrom.. I've got:
1. Cdralw2k.sys (problem with this file)
2. Cdrom.sys
3. Redbook.sys
4. Storprop.dll
It all started when I tried to install DirectCD 5 and it didn't like it, so I uninstalled it. But now ever time I start my system up, I get an error message near my sys-tray saying that a device as been disabled blah, blah, blah and something about Roxio.. I've traced the problem to the Cdralw2k.sys being a Roxio file, but if I rename that file and reboot, I don't get the error message, but I get an ! against my cdrom in Device Manager and it doesn't work and I've tried updating, disabling, reinstalling and all that, but it won't install another driver or sort out whatever's wrong with it.. If there's a file missing, could you tell me if there is a way of expanding the file from the WinXp cd???.. Ta very much..

Thanks for that.. I've checked for the imapi.sys file and I've already got it in the system32\drivers folder, but I can't understand why it doesn't load it when I rename cdralw2k.sys for my cdrw...

Try doing a System Restore from the last pint before you installed DirectCD. This should then put it back to normal.

Nero 5.5.5.1 & CDRWIN v4 Beta are fully 100% compatiable with XP (I am using both myself personally and not had a single error yet!!!)

i'm using nero 5.5.5.1 and almost always getting "invalid writestate" (or something like that) and "couldn't perform endtrack", especially when burning large files (>200mb)
