Direct3D & DirectDraw
I installed Windows XP, and when I ran dxdiag, it said that Direct3D & DirectDraw were "unavailable". I'm running an Asus K7M motherboard with a 700Mhz Athlon CPU, 512MB RAM, and a Rage Fury MAXX video card. Direct3D & DirectDraw worked fine under Windows ME.
Could this be a driver problem ??

Have you got drivers for the Rage Fury Maxx??? I know that ATI never had drivers for Win2K for this card (unless you were willing to use it in single chip mode & 32Mb by installing it as a Rage 128 Pro & setting the jumper on it to single chip). The XP default drivers will only give you basic 2D support and very limited 3D support.

Windows XP correctly identifies the card as a Rage Fury MAXX. ATI never put out drivers for Win 2K. I'll go check the ATI site, and see if they've got updated drivers....

Just checked the ATI site, and they say to use the Windows XP supplied drivers, which only give 2D support. What a bunch of &*%$
So, it's either buy a new video card, or wait (possibly forever) until ATI or Micro$oft comes out with 3D support.
