    Post CDRW and DVD -Windows XP Profesional

    I just installed (format) Windows XP Professional on a Compaq 5600i. I have the Yamaha CRW2200EZ and a compaq DVD. The problem is they are not showing up. If I boot into the Safe Mode, the Yamaha and DVD are there with no problems. I can boot back into the Windows XP, add new hardware, add the DVD and it will install. But if I reboot, it is gone again.Tech support tells me to delete the Yamaha and DVD off of Safe Mode. Is this the answer or do I have a controller problem. Thanks for any help.

    Thanks for your reply. But where do I begin to get the fix for this problem. Would it be beneficial to install a PCI controller card and install just the CDRW to it.
